Introduction to Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS)

Synopsis

This sonography training module provides an introduction to point of care ultrasound. It uses survey data and a case study to motivate students to understand the value in using ultrasound at the point of care.

Audience

This introduction to point of care ultrasound module is suitable for all healthcare professionals.

Prerequisites

None. This module is the starting point for our ultrasound training materials.

Author

The author of introduction to point of care ultrasound is Dr. Chris Moore, Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the Yale University School of Medicine. Dr. Moore trained as a fellow in emergency ultrasound and has directed the Section of Emergency Ultrasound at Yale since 2002.
