  • Often most difficult view to obtain well
  • Probe just beneath nipple
  • Angle up into chest
  • Indicator to patient right
  • Patient in left lateral decubitus may help
  • Septum should be vertical

  • Rotate slightly clockwise to bring in aortic root
  • Long axis: aortic root seen but not right atrium
